Joaquín Torres is a character in Marvel Comics, primarily associated with the Falcon mantle. Initially a teenager living near the Mexican border, Joaquín was captured and experimented on by Karl Malus, a scientist known for his animal hybridization research.
Malus spliced avian DNA, specifically Red-Wing's (the original Falcon, Sam Wilson's, trained bird), into Joaquín's genetic structure. This granted him powers mirroring Falcon's, including enhanced strength, agility, and limited telepathic connection to birds.
Initially assisting Sam Wilson in his role as Captain America, Joaquín adopted the codename Falcon after Wilson relinquished the Captain America shield. He inherits a version of the Falcon wings and continues to operate as a hero, dedicated to protecting the innocent and upholding justice.
Joaquín's youth and relatively new powerset often lead to him being portrayed as a determined but somewhat inexperienced hero, constantly learning and evolving as he faces new threats and challenges.
