Speed Products' Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) is a composite material where carbon fibers are embedded in a plastic matrix. This matrix connects the fibers and fills the spaces between them. To protect the carbon from hot exhaust gases, Speed Products has developed thermal insulation, which we've named 'RI Carbon: Reinforced Carbon'. While carbon is recommended for racing due to its durability and weight advantages, it's not ideal for everyday road use. For that, Speed Products offers a durable, lightweight stainless steel (0.7mm) alternative. Note that carbon's heat resistance is conditional and it may lose its gloss over time, but this doesn't affect its stability.
