550 "Aime Leon Dore - Green" BB550ALD

The Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 550 “Green” is one of four white-based colorways of the retro performance basketball silhouette brought back by the New York City streetwear brand in October 2020. The 550 model originally debuted in 1989 as part of New Balance’s performance footwear program. Never tied to one player, the shoe nonetheless remained largely unheralded, forgotten even, until Aime Leon Dore worked with New Balance to re-release it for Fall 2020. The retro design features a mixture of smooth and dotted white leather on the upper. Green accenting on the “550” insignia on the forefoot and “N” branding on the mid-panel add a subtle pop of color against the white background. Dual Aime Leon Dore and “NB” detailing can be found on the back of the left and right shoe, respectively. Additional design elements include green molding on the heel and green leather on the collar. The pre-yellowed midsole is a nod to the nostalgic vibe of the New Balance 550. Release date: October 9, 2020.
